Congrats Dr. Fraser Black!


We are thrilled to share Dr. Fraser Black, a TWCC volunteer and former director, is a recipient of the King Charles lll Coronation Medal for his commitment to palliative care in Canada and internationally.

 

The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association, as a nominating partner, recognized 25 Canadians as champions for hospice palliative care.

"I think it's a recognition of everyone and all the teams doing work to improve palliative care here and abroad," Dr. Black said.

Dr. Black works with the Palliative Outreach Resource Team (PORT) in Victoria (Canada) and is a clinical professor with the UBC Faculty of Medicine. For more than 20 years, he has supported palliative care initiatives internationally in Brazil, India, Nepal and Tanzania. Dr. Black is a former medical director at Victoria Hospice.
